Here is a brute of a Warthog that one of my clients (Jay Whittenburg) just took on his safari in Zambia. Said it would be the #1 taken in Zambia with their record book there. No idea about SCI, but it is one big pig that is at least 16" and may go 17". Will post all of his great trophies on my website next week showing his Sitatunga, Roan, Sable and mulitude of other superb trophies from his trip. I love Warthogs and thought this one was extra special!

Right on the number butchloc! Yes, that is a BIG PIG. I saw one at Tintshaba a couple of weeks ago that the owner had shot and had mounted in the lodge that was nearly 19". He told us that it was coming under the fence from Kruger onto Tintshaba when he happened upon it and shot it with his .308. Can't get enough of those pigs!

I'm with everyone else, I have an ironclad rule to never pass on a good pig, no matter how many I've shot. Rest assured, I've not shot one that nice.

What a monster hog! Makes you wonder how he lived long enough to grow them but not grind them down digging holes, etc.

One of my all time favorite animals in Africa, is the wart hog, and this is one I'd kill for! thumb

I find a lot of the warties in Zambia have not worn down the tusks, or broken the cutters below. Maybe it is the soft brown dirt there, with few rocks! Confused
