These were my last three elephants in bots this year …as you may know they have extended the hunting for one more year …after that , who knows ..

We had a very solemn farewell to the Okavango delta this year –

On this hunt we saw 480 bulls , simply the very best elephant hunting you can imagine !!

It was a tough hunt , we had over 4 million acres to hunt with VERY limited roads due to the delta but with a very very fit client who was prepared to do what it takes we succeeded – each day we tracked and walked for over 6 hours –

Possibly one of the very best hunts I have ever guided – certainly worthy of a detailed report that I will get out soon ….

Our first bull on day nine at 73 and 71

Our second bull , possibly the largest bull I have ever taken , look at his head … I misjudged him , or should I say overjudged him , a big nerve and very oval ivory put him at 61.5 when I thought he would be over 70 –

No shrink on this bull , our third of day 12 of the safari at 83 and 76.

Ivan or anyone else who wishes to comment:

Do you think the situation in Botswana will push hunting in Angola along a little faster?

Got to be alot of elephants moving up into the Luiana region these days?

I know the hunter.

In January we had a nice talk where he told me that he thought he would like to go hunting in Africa.

I encouraged him to go.

When I saw him a few days later in Vegas, Ivan Carter was leading him around the show floor and getting him property outfitted.

Now I know why Ivan had goo-goo eyes.

Congrats to RA and IC.

Ivan, where do I collect my commish? Wink

Unbelievable set of bulls Ivan! Well done, my friend.

That pic of the 'big headed' elephant reminds me of the pic of Wally Johnson in Capstick's "Last Ivory HUnter"...the caption, if I remember right was "...with a whacking big jumbo." that applies in spades to that bugger...

nice ele

The man carrying the culling belt is the PH Ivan Carter, the client is not pictured with a belt of any kind! You are correct though, the cartridges do look like braats!
