Speaking of cigars, do you know what happiness is? I have to fly to Connecticut Monday for a week or so and I pulled out my little travel humidor that I haven't used since I went to New Zealand in January. I opened it up and there were three Cohiba Cubanos Robustos still in it. Frank "I don't know what there is about buffalo that frightens me so.....He looks like he hates you personally. Great thread. I have a guy in Miami that is in his 80s. Rolls me a hundred or so a month....Ct. shade wrapper with long Dominican filler....Mild and easy to smoke after a day's work (before and during as well!!!) I've tried'em all and these are the best I've ever found... Sorry, but can't get any for you!!! He only makes them for friends and family! JW

Jeff - can you recommend something similar off the rack for us deprived types ..?? All these Habanera Rostisado smokes are too strong for some of us light weights.

The Mntecristo petit Edmundos were good, as were the Hoya petit robustos. i'm partial to a R+J No3 but it does take a while to get through the longer ones so I prefer some of the shorter smokes. I have some trinidads to try that will stay in the humidor until we start shooting some driven partridges later inthe year. Accompany the whole lot with a vintage Glendronach and you can't go wrong. I just wish the 15yo was still available. FB

I prefer a milder smoke so I'll take a Rocky Patel Connecticut or a Cusano 18 for me. I'd never say no to a Gurkha either. Another good traveling cigar that is available in many duty free shops is the Montecristo Tubo. As the name indicates, each one comes in a cedar lined metal tube. They are Petit Edmundo sized, which is a good size for camp fire smoking. Mike Wilderness is my cathedral, and hunting is my prayer.

Can't attest to having had one in front of a mopane fire, but I can say a Hoyo De Monterrey Limited Edition pryamid is about as good as they get. Could only get better fireside. 30+ years experience tells me that perfection hit at .264. Others are adequate but anything before or after is wishful thinking.

Dunhill Diamantes go everywhere with me. If Cubans are available, I'll take a Romeo y Julieta No. 2 please. But I'll never refuse a Montecristo or Davidoff or.... Come to think of it, I won't turn down any decent cigar!!
