I can only imagine the expenses and hardships that Phil's wife and family will face in the future, including medical bills, funeral expenses, shelter, subsistence, school and all of the other costs of child rearing and living in general.

Phil was by all accounts a fine young man, and was truly one of us. So, count me in for another 6 buff and 7 elephant hunt tix. I hope the extra money will help the family.

And thanks again, Larry, for all you are doing to push this effort forward.

Best,

Mike

I want to give a brief report .

We have raised just shy of $35,000 to date.

The Buffalo tickets are perilously close to selling out.
I have questions about the info I received . At the least 139 out of 150 have been sold .

7 gun tickets have been sold.

18 pheasant tickets have been sold.

34 hog tickets have been sold.

11 elephant tickets have been sold .

If it wasn’t a conflict, I’d buy a bunch of elephant tickets.

Two transfers have been made to the family . There is likely one more to be made this week.

Thanks all. Buy more tickets!

No kidding on the elephant tickets. I was torn and may pop in for a few of them. Heck, maybe even the hog hunt to enjoy some swamp swine hunting.

Thanks again for doing this, Larry. You have always stepped up with these matters. Frankly, I don’t even recall if you said you even knew Phil. You’re a stand up man. Cheers to you.

Once again, I hope you didn’t take that the wrong way. It’s incredible what you’ve done for someone you haven’t met, especially while you’re in a crazy season for your “real job.”

Guys I have added 2 more of my guns to the Raffle in order to raise more money for Leah and the children. I don’t think any have been fired and are in perfect condition. They have been a back of the safe dweller. I tend to buy the guns take them out of their cases put them in the safe and forget about them. I keep the cases usually. If I find the cases of the two new guns I will ship too.

I want to sell an additional 50 tickets so 150 total instead of 100 @ $100.00 each.

Guns are a Benelli super black eagle two silver anniversary edition. 12 gauge camo. A Fauci 12 gauge over and under DU gun of the year. These are in addition to the gun listed on this thread all three included with one ticket.

I hope this raises another 15 grand for Phil’s family.

I don’t post pics so if someone wants to email me I will send you you can add them
Jeff@jhinc.us

I have pre sold about 40 tickets not included in Larry’s number. Remember if you send to Larry include name and contact info, all applicable
Gun transfer laws will apply.

Thanks

Thanks again to everyone who has participated.

We have had some interesting experiences. First and foremost in my mind is the number of professional hunters who have participated. Thys de Vries & Jumbo Moore did not even know Phillip. Yet, they offered up the Buffalo hunt . We have had several buy tickets even in these trying times.

We have other hunts offered to us. We are holding off for the time being .

I am out of the country hunting . I don’t have instant access to my office . I suspect
we have raised over $50,000. When one includes the money AR members contributed to the DSC Frontline Foundation, the number has to go much higher .

Thanks to Mike Burke who got this matter posted elsewhere. We had a flurry of activity that I suspect came from his efforts.

Thus far, the raffle has raised $49,450! We have received $25,100 through Paypal & $24,350 in checks. Paypal fees are $836.65 making the net raised $48,613.35.

We have issued tickets as follows: Gun-22; Hog – 47; Pheasant – 34; & Elephant – 48. I am waiting on 2 transactions that Paypal is holding so these tickets have not yet been issued (1 gun, 2 hog, & 2 elephant). I am waiting on clarification on a couple of other Paypal payments which did not notate which raffle. We have received 2 wires for $250 each with no reference or notation as to who sent them. I have included in the totals above but not assigned tickets. Also, we have a few miscellaneous others who asked for their buffalo payment to go towards the elephant since the buffalo sold out & to consider the remaining $50 a donation to the family.

Thanks!

This entire matter has been interesting. Also, a lot more work than I thought humanly possible.

Here are a few tidbits:

1- The number of people who sent money with no contact info and/or which raffle is quite surprising.

2- Some well meaning people published PART of the info on the raffle. This really caused problems.

3- As a result of #2 above, I had one person accuse me of being dishonest. This really pissed me off. I personally bought the gentleman 6 buffalo tickets out of my own pocket. Part of me wishes he had won.

4- The support has been fantastic. The donated buffalo hunt and elephant hunt have gotten this a lot of exposure it may not have otherwise gotten. This is especially commendable as the operators in question did not know Phil.

5- We have other hunts offered to us. We are holding off for the time being . At some point, we will make a decision on round 2. Interestingly, one of the people offering a hunt has been the beneficiary of prior fund raising activities when they were injured.

6- we have received some money that we simply have no clue how it was intended to be used. No ticket or combination of tickets could come up to the amount sent. For example, one was $20. We are proceeding under the assumption that this was simply a contribution to be forwarded to the family.

7- We have had several who simply wanted to contribute. They wanted no tickets.

8- If we ever do this again, the tickets will be priced such that it will be clear which raffle they are for. This would have eliminated a lot of confusion.

Thanks again everyone!
