I didn't read all three pages, but why don't we just rent out the whole restaurant?

Or did we and I missed it?

Wendell:

I'll bet they do over 400 dinners a night and I doubt they'd want to give up a Friday night anyway. Not good P.R., I'd think.

Looking forward to seeing you in Dallas.

Wendell, we only use one room until this year we will have to have the buffet set in another room. Like Ernest says we are only a small part of their Friday night business. I would guess maybe a fifth.

No, not the whole night. Just 1.5 hrs. 7:00-8:30 or so. Whatever. I mean, we are doing it anyway (taking all tables for one sitting), might as well negotiate a deal.

Might be worth looking into. Maybe not. It's not my deal. Just a thought.

Sounds like a great idea Wendell! When I used to be in the restaurant business we would like to be able to block off a time if a party is going to take up all of the occupancy of the restaurant. It all depends on the particular restaurant in question but it sure made it easier and we could often provide a discount as long as there were no drink restrictions. The key is to make the call now so they can set it up

Gentlemen, Wendell and Drummond, have you attended the Friday nite dinner at Pappasito's? We use one (1) room of a multiroom restaurant. As to a deal we got one, they normally only take parties up to 100 - I got 120 to accomodate the late comers. To get a restaurant to close to the public for an hour and a half in the middle of service is just not happening.

The above said as I have said in the past if anyone wants to handle the reservations and contract with the restaurant which ever restaurant you want please feel free to take over.

Doing Friday and Saturday nite deals is getting a bit much.

You can also make the arrangements to block the rooms at the Comfort Inn so we get a room (free) for the Sat party.

No need to be rude.

I thought the capacity of the restaurant was 120 as posted by someone earlier. I thought we were taking all the seats in the house.

This is your baby, carry on with it. I never intended to step on any toes, or steal any glory. That should have been obvious by my two clearly uninformed and ignorant posts.

Wendell not being rude. That is why I ask if you had been to this restaurant. If you have been to Pappasitos"s you would know we only use one room, and the capacity of that room is 100 as setup last year. Yes I get a bit short, that is why my friends call me bear and grouch, just my way friend see you in Dallas. Come around Sat nite and the first drink is on me! dancing

It's not uncommon to book a restaurant for a private party. That being said, I didn't realize that the dinner was at Pappasitos and it would cost an arm and a leg to book the place. Not even sure if I'll make it as I may already be in Mexico hunting. Ought to be fun, the food is sure to be good. Y'all drink a cold one for me

And if you have them left I'd like to reserve 2 spots. Had a great time there last year.

If they're gone it means I didn't get it done in time and somebody else will have to eat those fajitas and bacon wrapped shrimp, etc...

If my math is correct (being a CPA = Can't pass adding) that bring us to 115.

Good to be back on point.

Add two more to make my party a group of 3 if you have the room which would take your count to 119.

OK just got PM changing from 4 res to 2.

back to 118.

Now the fun will start, eh!

Now for fair warning - the res will STOP 12/23, even if we have less than 120.

I hope all will understand no offense please.
