Mine from October 2003 in RSA, not a huge one but a really fun hunt. Finally shot him in the neck thru a small opening on the brush while he was running. PH did not believe I could make the shot.

U E G, What a lucky man you are to have hunted successfully such a fine trophy. The Gemsbok is one of my as yet unfufilled dreams. Once in the Transvall I saw the butts of two as they escaped into the thick... I don't even know how good they were nor if they were even shootable. Well done.

The first one is my son's who was 14 at the time, a 38 incher shot with my much misused Ruger 7x57. The second one is a 42.5 incher shot with my Whitworth .375, both were shot in Namibia, west of Winchoeck.


A shot not taken is always a miss
