Just beautiful!!! I dream some day before my legs give out, I'll slip the safety off the .416 and place a 400 solid between the wrinkles of a jumbo. Most likely he will be half the ivory of this magnificent creature. Before I'm on the other side of the grass, I must live this true hunting experience.

I have a picture with the client in it. The client is holding a scoped rifle that appears to be a bolt gun. I would have to conclude that he did not use a double.

I didn't think anything but a double was allowed on elephant.

it is allowed but certainly NOT proper, at least according to the DRSS gang. i am amazed he wasn't killed, since he obviously didn't have the supreme advantage of a quick second shot. stir

I doubt it. I would wager that most who can afford an elephant hunt in this area (and many others) also have a second residence outside the U.S.A. I personally think that in coming decades many hunters will be seeking reasonably priced "trophy rooms" in other parts of the world for just this reason. Too many things are getting unimportable to the US and hunters are going to get tired of passing up good deals just because some D.C. bureaucrat says they should.

If the opportunity to shoot such a magnificent trophy presented itself to me, I would take it and worry about getting it back later. This ban won't last forever.

And even if it did, so what. For probably close to the price of this hunt, a guy can get a little apartment in many parts of Europe (even by a beach) or, if wanting something closer to home, a little place in rural Canada. I am personally amazed that more guys don't do this sort of thing.
