101 x 95 lb Bull Elephant Taken
I have heard a Spanish hunter recently killed a bull elephant of 101 x 95 pounds. Any speculation as to who the PH was?

Jack D BoldThe PH who took this magnificent elephant was Nixon Dzingai, SSG Safaris. Nixon's client Sr. Jose Luis Rueda shot the beast on Thursday, March 31 at 17:00 hours in the Malapati Communal Area. Photo printed with SSG Safari's permission
Nixon's having a pretty good year. So far, they shot this 101, a 70, 70, 66 and a 52 pounder.
Congratulations all around!

Yes, this is the same outfitter. William Phifer claims Nixon stole his Traveler Cheques after he shot a dozen animals. Phifer paid Nixon for the trophy fees with the checks..and later claimed they were stolen. It was for 30K.
Stated differently: Phifer cheated Nixon out of 30K!

llamapackerReally nice elephant. Congratulations to the Hunter.
Given Nixon's penchant for fudging his area boundaries, it would be a shame to find out this great animal was taken outside the approved safari area. If you found out this beast was taken within the National Park, would anyone change their tune? Several on this board have previously demonstrated they don't care. If we are to believe Jack Off Bold, it wasn't even taken in the Safari area, but actually in the neighboring communal area. Hmmm...
I mean no disrespect to the hunter in the photo. He took a magnificent animal and most probably was not knowingly involved in any shenanigans. Perhaps it all was legal - and I actually hope it was. Given the amount of interest in 100 pound tusks these days, it won't suprise me when more details start to come out in the weeks and months again. Anyone who books a hunt with Nixon should know the odds are high that at least a part of their hunt will be conducted illegally.
Once again, great tusks!

What's the life expectancy of this money order crap coming up over and over again. We recently had a hunt report with a Lion that got pulled do to criticism.
How about we not encourage the same thing with this Elephant?

do you have a badge or just an axe to grind?
09 April 2011, 04:07
Frank MartinezI am simply curious on this.
When an exceptional animal is taken how are fees applied?
Is there a base price with added fees for over average weight?
Is this a set price prior?
How would you plan for contingencies?

Frank,
With Nixon, the agreed upon trophy fee, typically at $12,500, stays the same no matter the size of bull taken.

This must be a new change because there was another poster who hunted with him and did not pay any trophy fees.

Bill/OregonWell, at least Sr. Rueda didn't go to the trouble of personally posting a long and detailed report in the Hunt Report section, only to have these other issues come up and then have the report and photos deleted out of disgust.

Let me sum up my thoughts about you in my most diplomatic manner:
You're a lying, no-good, thieving son of a bitch.I will give you credit for one thing, you've got brass balls to keep posting on AR. I wonder if you're brave enough to go back to Zim and "explain" how those traveler's checks were stolen to the local tribes people and why you really don't own any fees for all the animals you shot?
