I won't be able to view it tonight, so would someone please take note of the type of weapon he is using.

I'm curious what the son of a billionaire uses on a hunt.

Thanks.

Kid likes to hunt. We should be celebrating that fact. There is some money that won't be going to PETA and HSUSA.

Rich kids will always get to hunt, no matter what the laws are. Enough money will buy you anything.

However if Trump ever offers to pay you with "Trumpcard", don't take it! It will "bounce".

Interesting. As I was watching it it looked just like where we hunted in Tanzania. Then the PH looked awfully familiar. It was our PH in the same camp and in the same tall grass the same close proximity to the big black dugga boys. deja vu. Nice memories were brought back. I just couldn't believe it was the hunt we did. But it was. Wiedmanshiel!

Although cartridge selection is important there is nothing that will substitute for proper first shot placement. Good hunting, "D"

One of the rifles he shot was a .470 double gun. The other was a scoped bolt action that I didn't get the caliber one.

Was that a kid or a small man holding the sticks?

It was a decent show...

The bolt gun was a .375

After he shot the first buff, did anyone catch the line, "that is a head piece even a trump can admire".

The bolt gun was his favorite gun...a 375 H&H and it travels all over the world with him. I tried to figure out what brand it was but came to the conclusion it was a custom build. Some of the DRSS guys here could probably tell what make the DR 470 Nitro was.

I did catch that...pretty funny. They also used something from "The apprentice" about getting fired as well.

The show was not bad at all. I have seen much worse. I could see him becoming a regular on more than one show in the future since his name draws attention. This could be a good thing for our sport.

The 375 looked like a Remington custom shop. Looks like the rich guys a push feeder. Eeker
I missed the first ten mins., but what I saw looked better than anything they've shown this year.

Walked in the house after taking my bride to see "Blood Diamond" starring Leonardo de Caprio. Very good movie BTW and lots of familiar scenes for those who have been to Africa.

Anyway, flipped on the TV and caught the last half of the Versus Dangerous Game episode. I didn't realize it was Trump but he seemed like a likeable guy to me. Also, I thought his bolt looked like a Remington 700. Overall, a good episode.

I think the guy on the sticks was a pigmy. Sorry, I don't know the politically correct term and mean no disrespect.
09 December 2006, 07:06

The bolt gun was not a Remmy as I looked specifically for the bolt handle, which is a first hint to any of the major builders. This bolt was a straight down bolt with a larger than normal round knob which is often seen on a custom made gun or action. Now I won't be able to sleep tonight wondering about it.

I know for sure I saw the lever for the hand detachable side locks on the 470 DR.

I bet it was an H&H.

They have a New York City show room and that is TRUMP country.

I liked the show.

The more celebrities that are positive about "Right Wing" positions on political issues, the BETTER.

If you think there is no tie between politics and hunting you're really tuned out.

Paul tried to get trump to take the head shot on the bull in the middle of the show. My son had to take that shot on the two buffalo he shot. he executed it well even though I was not much approving of that shot. Trump didn't take the shot.

The top floor of the H&H shop in New York is mostly guns. They do have some very nice guns there. The least expensive double we looked at was the mid 40's. The nicest was over 100k. My son and I were just walking around window shopping in NYC in 2000 at Thanksgiving. I just happen to look up and realize that we were standing in front of the H&H ny store. We went in and spent some time. Lots of high end shirts dresses and watchfobs on the first 4 or 5 floors but the guns were fantastic. I am sorry that I am not in that tax bracket.

H&H must have moved since 2000. I was there this past summer and they were in a couple room suite of an office building. The guy I was talking to said H&H was made an offer they couldn't refuse on their previous building.

Just saw it again from the start. If Versus can continue with this style of shooting the show will be worth watching again.
I thought his 375 looks just like this one without the barrel band.

This was a very nice show tonight. Trump seemed like a down to earth sort of chap. From what I saw, I'd hunt with him anytime. The show had dropped a bit...but tonight got things back on a higher plane. And yes, ANYTIME someone such as a Trump is showing hunting in a positive way it can only help us put out the positives to our sport. Anyone who thought different as it pertains to tonight's show is sadly mistaken.

Bulldog, Paul jelonek has a company called Bundu Safaris. Be careful there are more than one company by that name. This one hunts the Kilombero floodplane. Nice hunt. You will not see many trees. Lots of long grass and puku. I can likely find you contact info if you like. I think he maintains a home locally in the off season. "D"

Jarrod and KINO...it looked similar to the Remington Safari from the custom shop but the bolt handle is different. The handle is round and straight down rather than crooked and semi-flat. The bolt knob is also round and not semi-flat like a Remington. Perhaps its a custom build on a Remmy action? I guess someone will just have to ask him. Hell, maybe we can get him to join us on this forum. I think he will fit right in. I'll bet someone here is in his "caliber" and can find out for sure.

I agree 100%. I was really surprised. Jr did come off as a decent sort. The other fella seemed like a stuffed shirt. He made a comment about getting rain on his fancy rifle. What the hell. Did you see how he was hiding the barrel under his hat during the rain storm.

The average man's love of liberty is nine-tenths imaginary. It takes a special sort of man to understand and enjoy liberty; and he is usually an outlaw in democratic societies.

LV ERIC,

Where are you?

You're shopping for a double and you've told us money is no object.

Get us a mailing address for Don Trump Jr. so we can

send him our positive feedback regarding his hunting.

In this episode we were shown pic's of him with a male lion

and a leopard that he seems to have hunted earlier some time.

I gotta say, I am in this man's corner.

Gentleman,

First the safari was conducted by Bundu Safaris not to be comfused with our Tanzania Bundu Safaris. We do not operate in the Kilombaro.

I don't watch many hunting shows but I thought this was quite good with Trump coming of as a real hunter and gentleman. He does need to learn to reload from the shoulder with his bolt gun. The point is though he reloaded immediately with both the bolt and the double which I applaud him for. Nothing drives me nuts about these shows more than a guy shooting and just standing there watching the animal without reloading.

The safety on the bolt gun also made me think it was a 700. Could he have had the bolt handle replaced?

Mark

I liked the show and thought Trump seems like a down to earth person. What really surprised me was when I saw the PH Paul Jelonek. My husband and I hunted with Paul in 1994 and 1996 when he owned Bundu Safaris in Zimbabwe. We first met Brian van Blerk (who now is a PH for Adam Clements)in 1994 when he was one of Paul's Professional Hunters.

We have a lot of good memories of Paul and his wife Dione. Small world.

I also thought the show was well done. I would love to hunt buffalo in the long grass like that. I think it would be a great experience. Trump JR appears to be a decent guy in the video. As for the rifle I also believe it was a remington and a H&H double. What cracked me up was the midget tracker....at first I thought it was a kid until the end when they showed his face. The shooting sticks he was carying were twice as tall as he was!

We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, Which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a President, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, for which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke!!!!! Say what you want about his old man or be jealous of the money, but the guy seemed real down to earth and really enjoys to hunt. I couldnt find I single reason to not like the guy. These are the kind of people we need in our corner. The show was a very good one I thought, wish they were all this good.
