Rigby is planning a huge invitation-only wing-ding surrounding thier 250th Anniversary!!

I have heard, thru the grape vine, that Donald Trump Jr. will be there and kick off the purchase of the special limited edition 250th Anniversary Rifle series purchases!!
I've not received an invitation, but after our cruise around Africa and back, return from Barcelona, with gate change- NOT TERMINAL CHANGE at Heathrow, for Seattle... I won't do that again any time soon!!
One of our old Cal Pappas Double Rifle shooters is going, but another high profile UK Gunmaker friend, Purdy, later Rigby apprentice, isn't on the guest list!! Of course John Sharp, Rigby Mr. Africa will be present...

Who else is going??

I didn't get an invitation either.

If you want one, tell them you want one and pay for one of the rifles, and I am sure they will get you in.

Since I have not brought a Rigby made rifle, and have no plans to, I am not in that august company.

I think it's too late... all distributed...not available at any price??

I don't own a Rigby either!! I've tried!! No joy!!

I don't know if they will get the jam up at Heathrow cleared in time?? What a MESS!!

YUP, your neighbor we all know well from Cal Pappas double rifle shoots!!

I've been hearing there might be a group effort to ressurect a new Cal Pappas Memorial Double Rifle shoot?? Have you heard anything locally??

I will certainly come up if my back surgery is successful and Im walking again??!!

I have two Rigby rifles, one old and one new.

But I got no invitation, either.

BTW, both of my Rigbys are right now in the hands of two fine gunsmiths right here in the USA, being properly straightened out.

Every rifle is just a rifle.

No I haven't heard anything specific. Cal was truly the spearhead of those events and that made them happen.

We miss Cal a lot.

TRUE, Cal was the real motivator, AND he had the interesting array of double rifles he layer out to shoot, including his 4 Bore!!... and Dave has an equal compliment of fine Doubles he generously layer out to shoot!!

We really had a treasure trove of Double Rifle shooting at Cals event!!

Interestingly, he probably wouldn't have been invited to the Rigby event either!! Dave is joining Marc Newton on his Leopard hunt after the event!!...

You know, friends in high places...but I'm sure a great customer too!!

I'm not fancy enough to get invited to that party.
And if they asked, I wouldn't want to hang out with those fancy folks.

WOW!! This is really shaping up with hunters and writers!! Graeme Wright of SHOOTING THE BRITISH DOUBLE RIFLE is headed over, Richard Lendrum, Publisher of AFRICAN HUNTING GAZETTE is headed up from JNB. I suggested to Richard that he engage Silvio Calabi, co-author of RIGBY A GRAND TRADITION,to write a story for AHG, he was invited, but has a commitment with The King, and he selected the latter... I think I might have gone to The Rigby event if it were me??!!
I was told a very interesting story about the vintage Rigby Rising Bite double that was used to develop the new Rising Bite!!... it is expected to be displayed at the event... and Diggory Hadoke will be covering it in an upcoming book!!
I'm sipping some great RIGBY single malt Scotch from 250th Anniversary snifter... but I won't be going, I wasn't invited either, but I've got a bit of a back overhaul that would have interfered anyway!!
I'm sure we will see reports on this shindig in AHG,Guns and Ammo from Mike Scooby, Sporting Classics,and who knows where else??!!
