I'm looking for a good taxidermist in the UK who is well known for doing African mounts/skins.

Can anyone help?

Cheers Mike

With kind regards

Mike - I have a chap who does very fine Taxidermy work. He had done Duiker, Steenbok, Grysbok, and Klipspringer for me last year and will be doing Vaal Rhebok, Bushbuck, Common and Mountain Reedbuck for me in the next few months. If by skins you meant tanning.....this he doesn't do himself but sends them away to be done.

Drop me a PM if you would like an introduction.

Regards
Guy

I'm curious. Might sound like a stupid question but would a taxidermist in the UK have a sign in front of his business? It just seems that when you look at the vile posts by anti's on places like facebook about hunting a majority many times are from the UK. I would think a taxidermy business there would almost have to be "underground".

I know three and they all operate business from their homes in rural areas. Whether or not this is due to the anti's or not I cant say.

The animal right nutters always have their 'flavour of the month' sometimes you will hear of a spate of say..... boar being let go from boar farms...... other times its something else.
