First, I find AR to be very informative and helpful. Thank you, Said, and to all others who have answered my questions and provided both information and enjoyable reading.

As for a scant few who post dung here, let's remember that the internet is anonymous and the ill-informed anti-hunting crowd ( particularly those who are the most radical and anti-conservationist) may post here to collect fodder to add their own sites.

Happy hunting to all...

ZK needs glasses (as Bait Babe is one of the most beautiful women I know....inside and out! Plus she could probably kick ZK's __ss too!) Apparently he needs more attention than he is getting from the AR Forum and posters! Pathetic!

Saeed, you and AR more than make up for the likes of the trolls!

Thank you for a great Forum!

I gotta say that ZK's comments about Jim's wife are the most tasteless I've ever seen on AR. One of the drawbacks to the Intereney is you can say anything about anybody and stay anonymous.

Un-bloody-believable. Must be a prize index/thumb tip wanker! Married to a trophy, HUH? Says shit all for her unless because you are such a miniscule wanker, someone else is taking care of her. What a prize tosser.

The internet is a tough place, and anonymity can bring out the worst in people.

If there's "bad" or risk on AR, IMO it's more about the tough nature of internet forums.

Saeed and the other moderators are doing a good job and AR is serving overall a noble purpose.

I was contacted here on AR via PM regarding the new forum. as stated to me, one of the main reasons for the new forum was to have a forum where the behavior was more gentlemanly. Obviously, ZK/Duke/Adam forgot that idea somewhere along the way.

ZK's post's on this subject have to be the single most offensive thing I have seen here on AR.

Can't blame a PH for not wanting to get involved since with an open site you sometimes get trials by idiots as this thread illustrates with this ZK jerk but we all figure them out in pretty short order.
I have met some great folks here and wouldn't want to change this site in the least.
Thanks Saeed! And good hunting to you all.

Gentlemen,

The more good hunting forums we have, the better it is for all of us.

ZombieKiller, good luck with your website.

Anyone else would have deleted his account and erased all record of ZK.

Class is not jealous or hateful. It's why I stay, even with the haters and poop throwers, this is the best hunting talk forum on the net. I suspect there may not be many, if any like it across all other forums. Hunting and non-hunting.

AR is and has been the best hunting and shooting related site on the web, it covers just about everything. You can learn something from it every day. The posters that always have to stir the pot and offend other people just show their immaturity and lack of social skills.

Really? Even if the gentleman's wife was ugly (which looking at the pictures I'd say the opposite), the comments you make are without class, and surely cross any line that can be defined.

By the way, what does your wife think of you thinking about her as a trophy, an object?

While I agree with all of those/us who have posted our likes and appreciation for AR and all it is. BUUUUUUUT. This has gotten WAAAAAY off topic. Look back at the first post!!

The question was about AR's reputation with those on the outside, mainly PH type folks, NOT those of us who participate on here. We all know it's great. The poster was pointing out what/how OTHERS see AR looking in from the outside.

Ask your friends, your PH, your hunting buddies what they think of AR. That is what the original poster had in mind I believe?

AR has been a great resource for me but for some outsiders it's hard to unbundle the good from the unfortunate crap. One PH said he doesn't go places where you can't look someone in the eye from across the table. If this was the real world I'd buy guys like RIP a drink and shake his hand some others not so much.

AR is by far the best hunting & shooting site on the web. It is also the most tolerant! It took several years for Saeed to clean up the PF junk!

Over the last 6+ years I have made many friends, bought stuff, visited new friends & shot their double rifles & more.

I have never been to Africa (hope to go this Sept) and I have bought my first Big bore rifle. Only on AR can you get the support and help that I have had. What I learned from here in the last year with my new rifle would have taken 10+ years to pick up on my own.

Oh, and the help I got for restocking project .....

Thanks Saeed.

Regarding the original post, I am sure many PHs would still read AR & keep up to date.

I can see resistance from PH's point of view
Anytime you run business and can be held accountable for every minor mishap/imperfection , you think twice about opening yourself up as target.
At the same time I think it is working well for those PH's that run straight shooter business as we see this here on AR
No worries about few naysayers, most of us are honest hunters and businessmen as well

AR is tops for gaining insight into broad hunting experiences in every corner of the world. I've not found another forum like that. Only a select few hateful self-loathers and narcissists soil this place on occasion and are easily put on ignore.

ZK.....you deserve every bit of bad karma that befalls you. You must hate yourself.

I personally think the AR reputation is very good. As usual, there are one or two bad apples.

Ignorance is one thing but being mean is another. Zombie Killer, you owe Frostbit's an apology. If you feel you cannot apologize or retract your statements about his wife, at least be man enough and have to courtesy to let him know who you are and where you live so your differences can be sorted out.

I have known them both for years and they are both fine people.

So much for all the kudos about not moderating a forum and allowing free speech.

People who shout FIRE in a theater are censored for it. And so should oddball comments (ex. ZombieKiller in this thread) that contribute nothing to the discussion.

To have this utopian idea that there should be no moderation (for fear of infringing upon the tiniest bit of legitimate discourse) at all is (a) unrealistic and (b) taking the easy way out (i.e. avoiding a lot of work for the moderators) but this forum would be better off without all the chaff.

I know many Phs who visit here but do not post or they just stay anonymous. Many have been accused and did nothing wrong, been lynched, burned, and defamed.
There are also some very great members who are such a help to the industry and any one who would ask.

Interesting that you feel that way...the censorshop and all.

I am from that bastion of free speech once known as America as I assume are you.

Even more interesting is the fact that I am still here posting on AR even after being incredibly offensive to AR members including Saeed yet Saeed has not banned me, quite the experiment in tolerance this has been. Apparently, you and many others feel Saeed should shit can me but he hasn't which is quite illustrative. So much for American Exceptionalism, this chap from Dubai has exhibited a greater appreciation for free speech than the bulk of you. Fascinating.

Yes, and the bastion of free speech will lock your a$$ up for crying FIRE in a movie theater.

And what is the reason for you to be incredibly offensive? Keeping the discussion to this thread, what was the point you were trying to make? Some grand experiment in the limits of tolerance? Or is it just chaff that I suggested should be discarded?

Who shouted "fire" in a movie theatre? Are you really so stupid as to equate telling someone their wife is unattractive to crying fire in a crowded theater? If so, you really are stupid.

I am referring to "Context" - the circumstances that form the setting for an event, statement, or idea, and in terms of which it can be fully understood and assessed.

There is no context for someone to shout "Fire" in a movie theater without reasonable cause. And there is no context for you to "call someone's wife unattractive" when discussing a topic that has nothing to do with anyone's wife - attractive or not!! Understand?

If comments are made that have no context to the discussion at hand they ought to be deleted.

Yes, "human nature" is the part I find very hard to understand.

We have members here who go out of their way to help others, by whatever means they can. Without expecting anything in return.

We also have the likes of ZK, who defies any logic of being part of the human race.

There is nothing I would like better than to have none of what you call chaff here.

But, the value of the discussion will come to nothing.

What one has to bear in mind is that this an INTERNET forum.

This means 99% of those who post are unknown to those who read their posts for the first time.

As time goes by, one learns the character of each member, and we tend to feel closer to the opinions of some than others.

We also get to know the real idiots.

Who have no life in reality, and tend to manufacture one as they see fit on the Internet.

We have had individuals here who actually used several IDs - going as far as ZK has done by using a proxy server to hide their IDs.

They used those different IDs to have an ongoing discussions on the forums.

Just imagine what sort of sorry state a person is in that he creates 2 or more ID to talk to himself on an Internet forum??

He will use one ID to ask a question.
He logs out, and logs in using another ID to answer his own question.
