Friends & Fellow Hunters - Please see below. This is just one of three petitions I know of, trying to ban me from one place or another. This one is nearing 100,000 signatures! Interestingly enough, a PR company sent this info to an acquaintance of mine, on accident.

"Endangered Species", really??? Roll Eyes

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday, 16 July 2014

Nearly 100k People Urge Facebook to Maintain Community Standards and Remove Aaron Neilson’s Trophy Kill Photos of Endangered Animals

*** http://www.care2.com/go/z/ANeilson ***

Facebook recently removed teen Kendall Jones’ photos of her trophy kills of endangered animals. Now a Care2 petition calls for the same treatment for another trophy hunter

In early July, 19-year-old trophy hunter Kendall Jones’ Facebook photos went viral. In the photos, she sat smiling happily next to the carcasses of endangered animals, and the world was in an uproar -- until Facebook caved and removed the photos. Now, activists hope the social media site will uphold its decision and remove photos of trophy kills on hunter Aaron Neilson’s page. The Care2 petition calling on Facebook to remove Neilson’s photos has more than 96,000 signatures.

VIEW THE PETITION HERE: http://www.care2.com/go/z/ANeilson

On his Facebook page, Neilson has posted photos of him posing with a smile and a gun next to countless dead animals -- lions, a hippo, moose, goat, ram, and even a polar bear. Activists say Facebook should not serve as an outlet to glorify the killing of endangered animals.

VIEW NEILSON’S FACEBOOK PAGE HERE: https://www.facebook.com/aaron...globalhunter?fref=ts

When Facebook removed Kendall Jones’ photos, a spokesperson told Mashable the photos violated the Facebook Community Standards, which prohibit "graphic images shared for sadistic effect or to celebrate or glorify violence.”

Care2 members say Neilson’s photos fall under this same classification.

FIND OUT MORE ABOUT FACEBOOK’S COMMUNITY STANDARDS HERE: https://www.facebook.com/communitystandards/

With more than 25 million engaged members, Care2 (www.Care2.com) is the largest online community of activists, now in its 15th year of making a difference for the environment, human and animal rights, and other causes. Care2.com, Inc. is a B Corporation, or social enterprise, using the power of business as a force for good.

96,000 "people" doing you a favor. Facebook sucks.

But consider they only have 96,000 signatures of the 25 million engaged members of Care2. I suggest you advise Facebook that 24,904,000 of Care2's own members disagree with this Petition and/or support you.

Dude - when did you shoot a polar bear?

Thanks for the link. I signed up to ban you.

Was that not what I was supposed to do? Smiler

I think you are just happy that you reached "Kendall Jones" status, but please, I do not want to see you in a two piece. Or a one-zie either for that matter.

However, I would pay some good money to see you in a Texas Tech Cheerleader outfit out on the field when the Red Raiders play their first home game. I'd buy tickets to that game!

I understand your point Aaron, but what is it exactly that you are trying to achieve by posting on FB? I have never joined; I can't see any need to do so. I don't even have a FB page for any of my businesses.

I can easily see FB creating a policy of "no dead animals." After all, you can't post nude photos, can you?

Using social media for business reasons is really risky. You don't own the content - they do, which you are now finding out.

On a more serious note, the attacks on gun ownership and hunting have definitely escalated over the past two years or so. Anti's are organized, have huge numbers and no common sense. They are liberals, mostly, who do not take into account facts when making decisions. These are knee-jerk responses to emotional topics.

They have no interest in understanding the truth. This is why you can not change a liberal. If they took into account facts and made rational OBJECTIVE decisions ... well, they wouldn't be liberals any more. We would call them conservatives.

Bombard them with facts all you want. They do not care about your facts, which is one reason they are easy to rally. You can get them behind anything that can generate an emotional response. Wolf, Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Cute and cuddly little Polar Bears. You get the drift.

Nobody cries about photos of a dead Salmon or Quail. Why? They don't have fur and their eyes are small. Hard to get too emotionally attached to a Pheasant, Turkey or a Trout. Which is why the liberals will never attack the bird hunters or fisherman in the numbers that big game hunters are targeted.

I've had near unanimous support & compliments on any pics my kids have posted for me. I'm gonna continue doing what I do. Those who don't like em will say what they will no matter if I post em or not. So might as well post em for the positive feedback too. You might borrow a page from Ivan Carter's game plan, which is to publish posts about what benefits hunting provides for the conservation of ALL species, not just the endangered ones (which of course are rarely hunted,) as well as preserving the habitat in which they can survive.

Ivan also includes photos of birds, flowers, trees, etc., in his portfolio to add perspective to the joys of hunting and trekking.

Beyond that, let us know if there is anything we can do to support you, Aaron.

Cut it down to maybe one or two times a week just to check what everyone is doing on the weekend.

Facebook and twitter are for most part is for those who have absolutely no life!

Can anyone of you imagine "following" - read that "worshipping" - some bloody stranger so that you see every bloody move they make?

Here is another stupidity of the so called "social media"!

So you cannot post photos of your children because they have not given consent???

We are all so happy to see photos of our members children being posted when they join the hunt.

So should we hide all these photos until the kids are old enough to consent on them being published?

I'm not a facebook guy. I feel I can't be on there, because of professional worries. I once signed up for facebook for 2 days just to enter a giveaway contest for a Mystery Ranch pack, and in that 2 days I had multiple friend requests from clients, so I deleted my account.

Anyways. . . .

Another viewpoint, maybe you should hope that Facebook deletes. What kind of message would it send if every hunter boycotted Facebook and deleted their accounts? Might be a good thing?

if our goal as international sport hunters is to incite, enrage or otherwise be "in your face" to the rank and file FB user. This is exactly how to do it.

If our goal is to, long term, live and let live, knowing there will always be anti's this is exactly how not to do it.

I am totally for Aaron being able to do as he wishes, heck that's what America has been all about. However, FB has that same exact right. I don't believe free speech rights are protected rights on FB? If I 'm wrong, I stand corrected. I know there are no free speech rights here on AR.

This falls under the purview of arguing with the guy whom owns the bandwidth. Just look how "we" react to Jolo or that other nut that just showed up.

I don't care for FB and rarely ever post anything, but from a business standpoint, it is a valuable tool.

+1

The other side has much right as us to oppose hunting and to fund anti hunting policies.

If Michael Bloomberg wants to give $100 mil. for gun control or if Paul Allen (or some other billionaire) wants to give millions to stop trophy hunting they have all the right to do so. They earned their money and paid taxes on it. They can do with it what they like, as long as it is legal, and I can do with my money which I have earned and paid taxes on what I want. Great thing about this country.

And if I so hate Bloomberg - I can cancel my terminal and not pay him $2k a month. But then it will limit my ability to make more money with which to buy guns, drink extra large diet coke and hunt animals.

Our world has changed and not for the better. Steve nailed it with his comments above. I don't agree with how things have changed, and I don't think Steve agrees with those changes, but, as he reminded me a short time back, it is all in presentation, and in todays world, "In Your Face", is not going to get us anywhere.

The sad part of this is there is no way we could get 100,000 hunters to band together and petition against the anti-hunters. I am also shocked at the lack of outrage expressed by hunters on this board. Instead was want to think that this is just ranting by a few radical lunatics. People, we are losing this battle and we are happy to ignore the threats against us and watch our hunting rights disappear.

We better wake up, band together and fight back everytime and everywhere or we will only have a website talking about the good old days when we could hunt.
