Greg BrownleeYou don't need one for an elephant from Zim. The only elephant that require US CITES
import permits (out of the countries that are allowed to export ivory to the US) are for elephants taken in Tanzania. All permits will be taken care of on the other side of the pond.

I had the same confusion this spring when I was getting ready for a Zim elephant hunt. Last SCI show I spoke to USFW about it to get a definitive answer. As I recall, 2 usfw guys said I needed to apply for an import permit, one of the 2 said I needed to apply before the hunt, the other said I could apply after. The third guy said I didn't need one for a Zim bull.
Funny old world ain't it.
