Winter is here- this morning was the first below 10 deg C! Too cold for a lion as well and he made the mistake of lying up close to the bait to stay warm dancing

It was 81*F here yesterday. I wish it were 10*C. I care naught for the summer, except it means TIME TO GO TO AFRICA!

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."

Oddly enough we have experienced several 80 degree days here in the Greens, but odd to have it so hot with enormous piles of snow still staring at you!

Hi Ganyana, I must say, I thought Zim winters used to be cold, until I experienced the temperate climate and cold fronts in SA, the Freestate and Karoo can get pretty chando at night too. Then I experienced a phenomena known as 'winter' here in the UK. Wow! It hits you very hard especially when you have come over from full summer in Africa to full winter in the UK! I am sure that guys in north eastern Europe, Canada, Alaska, etc probably laugh at UK winters by comparison! The lions that you do see in parks over here seem to be rather chubby and hairy, which I can not blame them for at all! I can understand why bears are not skinny, hairless creatures!

Snowed two inches here in town yesterday, and about nine inches an hour north of us in Island Park. I really want to go fishing, but can't cut a hole in the ice big enough to launch the boat! Smiler

Snowing pretty hard here right now. Kind of funny since it was in the 50's all week.
