5:05 MST...the Superbowl is on...first quarter, but here I sit reading AR. In my minds eye I see the sunrises & sunset, smell the wood fire, listen to the sounds of night....and dream, wish and anticipate. And as always, planning for the moment...the hour, when we (my girls and I), can return.
Not even the commercials can provide momentary distraction or relief.
At this moment, I cannot fathom older age....or a nursing home...without plan or promise of return.
As I listen to the sounds of the football game in the next room, I feel like the actor, who at the close of the movie..."The Green Mile", when speaking on the life span he did not wish, speaks the words........."It seems so long.............."

Same here, I just go in the other room, check the score and come on back to good ol'e AR. thumb (The Texas Oak fire in the fireplace does smell a little bit like Mopane!)

Well I hope you didn’t miss the cars.com commercial, where the bright young man, while on SAFARI in what sure looked like the plains of East Africa, delivered a TIGER cub. Geez!

Good game so far. My 12 year old daughter wants to know WHO the old farts are on the halftime show. Big Grin

I'm with you guys. I tried to watch but two plays and eight commercials later said the hell with it. I'm trying to figure out if I should get my wife a bow or a cross bow for a hunt in Namibia this year. She has not shot a bow in 16 or 17 years and she is not quite as young as she used to be (sore neck and back). Oh well part of the fun is in the planning.

Just got back from the range with my .458 Win. Damned thing whipped my butt today. Must be the weather. That and some new loads with 2230 and 500 grain softs. I can always fantacize the bead is holding on a buff's shoulder instead of a black bull. ('seye).

Listening to the game with one ear while I type. Tried to watch it, but the deluge of commercials just blew me away. Pretty good game, too. Normaly, it's all hype, but the Saints are being quite innovative. Good on 'em.

The best football is usually the playoffs, anyway.

Gotta say, the best Super Bowl I've seen (a part of) since # XIII in Miami so many years ago with the Steelers and Cowboys. This one actually was more than the usual hype. Congratulations to the Saints!

I got to tell you I am glad for the Saints and New Orleans. I just hate to see Reggie Bush get that ring. He avoids the big hits. Look at Carnelle Williams of the Bucs he does what ever is asked of him. Well New Orleans is a great city and I have sure enjoyed my vist there. Congradulations Saints.

Well I got my African fix earlier in the day as I went down to the Eastern Sportsmen Show in Harrisburg, Pa.. I already have this years hunt booked so I just stopped by most of the Africian outfitters booths to visit. Just hearing the accent from the outfitter and staff helps. I will say they were still hard at work even when I told them I had booked for 2010 they were working on me for 2011. Good on them! I hope they all have a great show.

I also found an outfitter that did not like SCI so one for you Steve, oh and by the by the were from RSA and had LION hunts for sale.

In Italy, at 2 o'clock AM when second quarter finish, I stopped to look at the television, have to work to day.

Is today "OH when the Saints go marching in" a good song to sing in New Orleans? Wink
