BwanamichPICS - Anti poaching patrols
Anti poaching can be hard work!! Just getting to the area can be an adventure in itself. These were taken around Feb this year in Ugalla Game Reserve.
The road in
The camp airstrip!
These guys never heard of an ATV? Just went through 7 days of similar about 150 km off the beaten path in northern alberta after bear. Quad with a quad-trailer was the only way.

prairiewolfThe hole in the front bumper should have a winch filling it.It would make the trip in much less difficult.
There is a better road into Ugalla by the way. Not an expressway, but still, it's in a little better shape than that route. At least it was last year.

SGraves155Damn, Wet must be hard on the poachers, too.
Last August the anti-poaching patrol in Kigosi caught these guys; much drier then.
They (or at least one of them) had come in on one bicycle, probably after elephant, and had killed a buffalo with their one muzzle-loader. The Rangers had caught them, and had them, the buffalo, and the bicycle in the Land-Cruiser.
