North Fork Bullets - Made in Sweden
Hi,

I met up with the new owner Jorgen Bostrom of North Fork Bullets at the Sweden Game Fair a few weeks ago

He bought the American North Fork bullets company complete with machines and transfer of know how a few years ago.

Jorgen has now invested heavily in new CNC lates etc and increased production from hundreds of bullets per day to thousnads of bullets per day -and sell almost everything he produces back to the USA.

Jorgen is a hard working man and runs the company together with his wife in the South of Sweden.

Can you find NF bullets at your local shop in the US now?

Great bullets. Just wish they were a little more competitive on pricing.

Have been shooting NF .411 and .458 caliber bullets since they were first invented.

I have NEVER bought them at a store! I live in a small town where such specialized bullets are not stocked.

I have always ordered them from US source.

I always keep an adequate supply on hand so that I never run out.

I shoot them in two lever action rifles and two double guns. Usually a one shot kill with bullet not recovered.

I very much look forward to having access to NF bullets again. But CRShelton is correct -- there are very few retail shops maintaining any depth of stock in reloading components. Somehow he needs to secure distribution through MidSouth, Midway, Natchezss et al. Those are the only places where I can find anything other than the most basic reloading supplies.

That's great news.
I just loaded up my last box of 325 gr .416 bullets yesterday to use in my Ruger 416

I also caught up with Jörgen at the Swedish Game Fair:

If I understood correctly, he was getting ready to ship a 1000 kg pallet of bullets to reloadinginternational. I didn't ask if there were any specific bullets on that pallet.

There is only one U.S. distributor, and in stock items a very sparse. Love the bullets just wish US supply was a bit more dependable.

After using NF bullets for larger game for many years there is no better bullet on the market today in my opinion. Not only are they tough and accurate but for me usually faster with the same loads. I can get 3450 fps with 130 grain .277 grain bullets with one of my 270 WSM’s. This is 50 to 100 fps faster then any other bullet. I use them with the WSM’s plus 7mm STW, .338 Lapua, .340 Wby, .358 STA, .416 Rem and Rigby. I had many boxes when Mike sold originally but am very glad there is now a US market for them. Good Shooting.

They are very good.

But no better on game animals than any of the copper bullets out there.

Copper is copper.

If the bullet shoots well in your rifle, use it.

Animals would never know the difference.

I have hunted for years with the original Barnes X bullets.

Fantastic performance.

Then I started making my own Walterhog bullets.

Works just as well.

Never noticed any difference on animals.

Everything you hit well dies.

I agree there are many good bullets available. I will a shoot the bullet my rifles likes best. My .300 Win mag want only 180 grain Nosler Partition. My .338 Lapua likes the original Barnes X. Two of my .270 WSM’s really like the 140 grain Barnes TSX. It is just when I look at all my rifles more like the RF’s and will shoot them best. Good Shooting.
