I was 26 and it was plains game in RSA.

Just shy of 36 in RSA for plains game.

Second trip just shy of 37 in Botswana for plains game.

I was 63 and went to Zimbabwe for Leopard and plains game. Took a nice leopard,kudu,impala,warthog,duiker mix.

I was 36 hunting plainsgame and husband was 37 hunting leopard in Zimbabwe.

Age 50 for buffalo and ele in Zim, and I will forever regret not starting thirty years earlier!

The following year my wife & I both celebrated our birthdays there.

65 yrs, PG and DG in RSA.

I was 52 and we hunted buffalo and plains game in Tanzania

54 for Buffalo, Sable and other plains game in Zimbabwe.

27 and hunting PG in east cape

56 yrs old. SA - Plains game. Regret not starting younger but I am trying to play catch-up and seem to be doing quite well.

40 for plains game in RSA.

51 and it was for both in SA. PG and a management buff.

32 for PG & leopard in Zim.

61 and I have been giving it Hell ever since. A year without a hunt in africa is just plain Hell! I get the shakes and they don't go away until I deplane in Africa! I am glad I didn't get started sooner too much with drawal each year.

It was 1983 and I was 46 when I first stepped onto that grand continent.

Hunting with PH Rob Martin, I took buffalo, sable and kudu on Fanie Pretorius' Westwood Wildlife Safaris concession in Zimbabwe's Matetsi. Immediately after that, as SCI's new publications director, I visited most of South Africa's national parks and major tourism sites as a guest of the South African Tourism Board.

In Kimberley as part of that tour, I shot a gemsbok and a springbok while visiting Rooipoort.

I've returned to southern and central Africa many times since then, but there is nothing more memorable than a first safari. I remember every detail.

Celebrated my 50th birthday in the Okavango Delta of Botswana (1996), hunting Buffalo and plains game.

53 yrs old (almost 54) and shot a dozen PG in Namibia. Three more trips since then to Zimbabwe and Namibia for both DG and PG.
