We brought some rubber snakes with us, and have been having some fun them.

Yesterday someone put one in the foot well of our truck.

The driver screamed his head off running as fast as he could.

I did not know what the commotion was, so went out to investigate.

The truck door as open, and everyone was pointing to a green snake sitting there.

I took a stick and went over slowly, getting closer and closer, the pretended to try to pick the snake with a stick, but got hold of it and threw it at one of our trackers. He almost ran over Rene standing next to him in his fright!

In the afternoon Alan put one in the cabin in front here the game scout sits.

He got in and closed the door, and Alan asked him for the camera bag next to him.

He found the snake as he lifted the camera bag.

There was a fraction of a second of what to do.

Then all hell broke loose, and he became alive!

He seemed in two opinions - whether to try and open the door, or just fly out of the window!

I am preparing some more photos, and will post them tomorrow.

Those rubber snakes are looking more real all the time. We had one and when spotted in the back of the truck, it became empty in no time...

Wow! The passing impala really did get close to the cameraman lying in the weeds in ambush, eh?
Was that photo by Saeed or Roy?

Walter does not need a ground hornbill suit for stalking.
Walter IS a ground hornbill!

Incredible stuff! Photo quality just keeps getting better every year. Decades of practice and technologic advances are showing. clap

I shot a wildebeest and an impala for Walter's BBQ.

Elliott shot an impala.

Those photos of the impalas were taken by me lying behind a dead buffalo in a dry river bed.

The impalas got quite close to me.

We used Tim's BBQ rub yesterday, and it was great.

Tim, everyone send their thanks.

Jonathan has also given us some home made chillies, and everyone loves them.

We spent the afternoon putting up baits.

We put two lion baits, and were on the way to put a leopard bait when we saw a herd of buffalo.

Quick change of plan.

We went after them, and managed to get to about 300 yards from them on an open plain.

It as getting late, and very hard to separate the bull we wanted.

We left them and headed back to camp.

Walter is preparing one of his world famous BBQs tomorrow.

All the caps we are wearing were made by Hessa.

She enjoys making outlandish designs for Walter.

Saeed what wonderful pictures and buff. Allows me to escape work for a little. What type of camera and lens are you using to take most of the pictures with, especially the insects?

Early morning here, as the bloody hyena's kept a continuous racket all night - in fact they are still at it right now.

It is all in glorious stereo too.

One l0t are in front of the camp in the river bed, and another behind by the butchery!

We have not seen any in the day time so far.

Photos posted so far are mainly taken by me or Gary.

He is using a Panasonic TZ40, and I am using the same camera, as well as a Panasonic FZ200.

A few I posted were taken with Nikon D710 and a Nikon 70-200mm lense with a 2X converter.

No so many crocs in front of the camp this year. Last night I saw a large one - may be 10 foot. He did not like the light shone n him, and took off very fast.

It seems as the camp is waking up, the hyenas have gone quiet.

Night time is for the 4-legged hyenas, and day time is for the 2-legged variety I suppose!

We saw 2 eland cows yesterday - they looked they are ready to pop!

And right here behind the camp as we drove back last night, we saw one cow too.

A fascinating fact is we seem to see eland in exactly one place every year?? Sometimes seeing them on several occasions during the same hunt.

Thanks Saeed. The photos are better than ever. It was nice for me to see Lema. Hopefully at the next hunting we can see see Hessa , probably with some buffalos due her excellent marksmanship. And if it is not on a hunting, possibly as a future Olympic champion.

We had a funny day to day.

Went out in the morning to put up baits, and check on others.

We then walked down valleys looking for game, and found some zebra in long grass.

e could not tell their sex, so we gave up and headed for home.

In the afternoon we left early, and not far from camp saw 3 buffalo walking right in the open.

We jumped out and followed them, thinking this is going to be one of those easy hunts!!

It transpired that they were the tail end of a large herd, which managed to get into very thick forest by the time e caught up with them.

We followed them in the forest for a couple of miles, then realized this as not going to work, as they seem to see us before we can pick a bull to shoot.

We left them and drove around.

A mile ahead of us we saw a herd of eland, with what looked like a very old bull.

The wind was good, so we ran after them - again, thinking this was going to be an easy one.

Well, they kept ahead of us by about 400-500 yards, eventually running off just before sun down.

We headed back to camp, in anticipation of Walter's BBQ.

Jut finished that, and he certainly lived up to his reputation.

Answer is NO.

We actually saw a small herd yesterday, and Pete and his party saw one herd today.

Terrible really, as we used to see several in a single day.

Had quite a bit of fun with buffalo all day, and managed to shoot an old bull late in the afternoon.
