That is very cool! So what's the entire story?

It would be best for him to tell the tail, but failing that I will be traveling back east and get a first hand report and post additional information. This cat was taken on film and will be a very exciting sequence on an outdoor channel in the coming year. That much I know.

Good picture, Good looking Lion.

I ain't an archer, killed my first game animal with a bow this year, a javelina with an old Herter's Recurve and a flint tipped arrow.

Lion with a bow is really impressive, but as far as the Ultimate Archery Trophy, I would think Marco Polo Sheep would be at the top of the list. JMO.

Impressive cat however and especially so with a bow.

Congratulations to the hunter.

Beautiful animal. I think the question was asked, was it killed in South Africa?

Depends on the hunter... For me it would be brown bear or polar bear in Alaska. But Africa has so many tough/dangerous game species that any of the big 5 plus crocs, hippo, etc. would be worthwhile to mention. My personal opinion - you've got to be a bit insane to take on game like that with a bow if you're not "out of reach".

Wonder if they gave that cat a manicure to go along with that shampoo/blowdry before he was let out of his pen. Can't wait to hear the "story". Uh, on second thought, I will skip the story. I know how it ends.

That’s right - 3 guys from NEW YORK has just set another HUNTING LEGENDS RECORD in SOUTH AFRICA!

Nice trophy though. I suppose.

How many shirts did he carry along to pose in, or were they close enough to the lodge to stroll back for a wardrobe change??

That is a Huge lion. I can't believe it, however trophy lions that are considered to be the best have got black manes

after reading the link, it is obvious where and how these lions were shot. no property in RSA will have 3 huge full maned lions on it in a free range setting. lions of this size will not tolerate each other's presence in a free range pride setting on any property smaller than Pilanesberg National Park. can you spell captive born and raised boys and girls??
