GeorgeSPaul,
Use the macro feature to get close-ups; then zoom in on the photo in your photo editor.

FjoldIt just constantly amazes me what people on this site can do. Someone comes up with an idea and poof! Loaded dummy cases appear!

Bent FossdalI really don't like that short neck...... I'd rather loose 50 f/s and have a more harmonic looking cartridge.....?

jeffeossoPaul,
thanks for making these up..
i'll pick up some rum brass this afternoon, and probably some "480 ruger" bullets, and see if i can't anneal and work some brass to get it to have a bigger should.
what length did your neck wind up? look like about .35-.45

RIPDo something worthwhile and make the AR Line on the .338 Lapua Magnum case necked down to Phonograph Needle caliber for varmints and trolls, and necked up to .475" diameter bullets for everything else.
That .470 AR dummy looks like the brass got scraped by the die where the shoulder should be. Where is that shoulder???

Doesn't the .338 RUM already have a shorter neck than the other three RUM cases...?

Ron,
lapua (416 ribgy) cases won't stagger feed without $$$$$$$ in most actions.. you know that..
I'll make some more dummies, and try to push the shoulder to "spec"..
of course, it looks alot like the nyati "shoulder"..

Jeffe,
It is zero work to get them to feed if you use a CZ 550 Magnum action, Dakota 76 African, etc.
For the RUM cases or .404 Jeffery you also need the same action size or you have to do the RUM box thing and using a standard M98 is a big effort whether it is for a RUM case or a shortened Rigby case. No significant difference.
A line of Lapua or Rigby based cases to fit into 3.380" COL would be sweet. Better than a line of RUM based cases for sure!!!
I see wildcats: .308 to .475 caliber on Lapua or cylindrical Rigby shortened to fit in a standard Mauser 98 with drop box magazine with pocket plate, or use a CZ/MRC/Dakota/GM and throat them long to use the Rigby length box with bullet seated long in a "caliber-length" neck.
I hear the Cat's Meow.
