beer batter onion rings

found out a secret about them. the darker the beer you use, the better the rings. simple recipe. take the while of 1 egg and mix a bottle dark beer with it, then pour in about 1 cup of flour and mix the whole works up. leave the rings in the mix for a couple of minutes before frying them. nice thin tasty batter. then for a twist, take an apple, peel it and slice it into rings. cut out the cores and fry it up like the onion rings. when done sprinkle a bit of cinnamon, sugar and black pepper mix on the. (yes - black pepper)

what kind of oil did you use, and how hot was the oil.

canola oil at 375. if the oil goes under about 350 the rings will be greasy and if it gets near 400 it burns

Yes of course , the dark beers have more flavor than Bid Lite ! Dark beers also are better when you use it for marinating for the same reason .
