I bought the March issue of Hot Rod.

Ford is building a new 5.8 Liter engine for the 2013 Shelby GT 500. On the dyno at 6,250 rpm (redline is at 7,000)650HP and 510ft/lbs of torque...

Top Speed over 200mph! From a Mustang!

OMG!

Must be a newer version of the 412 hp Coyote engine in the GT. A fully loaded 2012 GT will stand toe to toe with a BMW M3 in every handling and performance aspect for $20,000 less.

I have probably one of the weiredest Mustangs out there. It's a 2006 coupe with full gauges, leather interior, traction control, suspension options,Fog lights in grill, hood pins,Aluminum gas fill cover, limited slip and ------ a V6. Iv'e heard of wolves in sheeps clothing but this is a sheep in wolves clothing. Bought it from Budget with 200miles on it. The salesman told me it was a special order by a sales manger for his own car. But then salesmen tell you what you want to hear. I will have to say it IS the perfect Mustang for me,drives without fault, goes the speed limit, gets a lot of looks and nice comments, and gets 30MPG with the air on. What more could an old man want.

Just looks like an absolutely box stock 2006 Mustang with fog lights in the grill and hood pins absolutely no distinguishing other marks on it. Stock mag wheels and tires single exhaust. No emblems,no nothing. The new one I really like is the California Special.

I have a 2006 Mustang GT convertable in white with the gold stripes. It IS a nice car at this point you can still see the paint in the tires as we only drive it on occasion, and the mileage is only 8800 miles. wave

With all due respect, does it only come in Viagra Blue as a color? I mean, really, where would anyone be able to drive 200 MPH? I can think of a few racetracks in the US that you could do it, and anyone who would try it on a public road should really seek professional help, IMHO. Long ago, when I was young and really, really stupid, I drove a Vette on a new stretch of recently built interstate at 145 MPH clocked. It was fun, but really a dumb thing to do.

I know what you mean...

I like a top speed of about 100,But..... I like to get there at about 9.7 or a 10. flat.

I even with todays trannys still prefer a good old Muncie 21 at hand, or a Borg-Warner T-10.

I guarantee you, if I had one, it would take me a week or so to see what the top end was. I had my Jag over 140 coming home from the SHOT Show two weeks ago.

If it's too fast, you're too old...

that 5.8 is superchaged it's pretty tricked out.
you can lower the top end from over 200 easily enough the 13 is gonna come with a 313 gear ratio and launch control.
i'd like to see one launched with a set of 373's.
i have an 06 gt coupe in windveil blue, it's had some mods done to it.
it tops out at 145.
i can get it to lock up in o/d at 125 at 4200 rpm and cruise all day long if i want to, and still get 18 mpg at that speed.
sad part is it had 6k miles when i got it and now it's pushing 18k miles,i like driving it through the canyons around here and have it set up for that type of driving speed rated low profile tires, lowered suspension, front spoiler changed, grille changed out for improved airflow, tuned computer [throttle and timing],improved exhaust,gt 500 throttle body, cold air intake and intake maniflod, shift kit,and increased tranny line pressure.
the top end is limited [by me] but it gets there real quick.
a 2700 lb car with 330 hp is pretty quick.

that's the weight before the aluminum skins are added, hood, trunk, doors.
and a few things are swapped on the vehicle.
lighter rims,tires,rear/front suspension,
lighter heads,smaller lighter pulleys.
lighter larger slotted brake rotors, ceramic pads, gained weight back in the calipers though.
lost the rear seat, usually don't carry the spare tire or jack unless on a longer trip.
lost 25 lbs in the exhaust system alone.
a supercharger will add another 100 lbs.
but i figure it's a good trade off.
this thing does not get driven from early october untill may at the soonest, and i have to be careful if the roads are wet.
i have as much in added parts as i paid for it.

and no the wife is not allowed to drive it.

Like my grandfather said about a much modified rifle. All you have left of the original is the hole in the barrel. Why not just start with a 240SX?
