I always thought that the definitive Alfa Romeo was the 2000 GTV.

Cool cars, but odd driving position. Seems that they're made for folks with short legs or very long arms....maybe Italians? :-)

And make sure you get the protective pan on the bottom of the engine. Many Alfa Spider motors have met their demise at railroad crossings :-)

My brother had a Giulietta Sprint back in the 60s. They're worth more than a few bucks these days.

In college about 20 years ago I worked in an import auto parts store. My boss, the owner, had owned a lot of car including a 66 289 Cobra. The one car that he always waxed poetic about was an Alfa GTV that he had owned. He never tired of taking about that car. I may have gotten tired of hearing about it but I never let on. You have to humor a guy when he is talking about the love of his life. Jason "You're not hard-core, unless you live hard-core." _______________________ Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt. Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure. -Jason Brown
