Steve Bertram recently finished this rifle for me.
It is a big action. Big enough to even go to a 577 but in a single, I thought 500 3" would be plenty.

Wifezilla just caught me all google eyed and drooling at my computer, then she saw that I was staring at your gun and slapped me.

Lovely gun, but I personally wouldn't like that kind of recoil..I would love it in a 450-400-3"..Ive always like single shots..

Ray, normally I would agree but these large Webley actions are really quite big. In a 400, either your barrel would be unnecessarily big at the breech if it were to look right and at that point you would end up with a gun as heavy as this 500. Would be light in the recoil department though...

I'm with Ray on this one. Recoil on a .500 DR is manageable, but WOW. Absolutely beautiful rifle and workmanship!!!

Stunning. Wow!

"...I advise the gun. While this gives a moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprize, and independance to the mind. Games played with the ball and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be the constant companion of your walks." Another classic, perfectly executed. What's she weigh, Huvius?

Ten pounds seven ounces.
Right about what a 500/465 Holland double weighs.

At that weight, no issues in a .500NE. A little light for a .577 though. Just a beautiful rifle that I'd love to hold and throw a round down range!
