Am considering having a #1 re-barreled. Are there some names I should be considering? Most likely will want a trigger job done at the same time.

Thanks. I'm familiar with Gary as he did a .45 colt for me. Did he do your stock work also?

No, it's factory. He rebarrelled a 30-06 to 9,3x74R. It's a deer killing machine; also took one bison with it. ______________________ RMEF Life Member SCI DRSS Chapuis 9,3/9,3 + 20/20 Simson 12/12/9,3 Zoli 7x57R/12 Kreighoff .470/.470 We band of 9,3ers! The Few. The Pissed. The Taxpayers.

Very nice. What barrel length? What is the turnaround time for barrel work with Gary? When he did my Ruger Bisley, it was about 4 months.

The barrel came out at about 19". It's a fairly heavy barrel, and we kept cutting it back until the weight w/ scope hit 9.0 exactly. It balances really well, carries well, doesn't kick at that weight (compared to a 7-pound Chapuis, anyway), and is very handy in a box blind. 4 months is about what I recall. ______________________ RMEF Life Member SCI DRSS Chapuis 9,3/9,3 + 20/20 Simson 12/12/9,3 Zoli 7x57R/12 Kreighoff .470/.470 We band of 9,3ers!
