I just ordered a Remington SPR18 from David's Gun Room in Norcross, Ga but I notice that it comes with an 11mm dovetail scope rail. So far, the only 11mm rings I've found are for rimfire and air rifles.
Any of you guys got one of these? What rings did you buy? Looks to me like this system will let the scope move in the rail (no groove to stop it from moving rearward). Anybody had a problem with this?
You might be surprised! I have used Weaver .22 rifle-type tipoff scope mount bases (the flat ones from Brownell's) on octagon-shaped muzzleloader barrels for 40 years now, and have never had a scope move. One is on a 7 pound,.50-caliber Hawken from which I fire 370 grain Maxi Balls at 1750 FPS using 140 grains of powder! Recoil energy = 62.9 foot-pounds. The scope has never moved!

For those who are interested, Warne makes a pair of 7.3s intended for use on this rifle and other center fires. Each ring has two set screws to hold it to the rail, and two set screws to hold the scope, as well as having a removable recoil key.
They ain't cheap ($37 from Brownells), but I went ahead and ordered a pair of highs (got to get my bell to clear those rear sights).
