Yeah I know its a lowly H&R Handirifle. I started with 12 gauge barrel stub & mated a shilen 375 barrel to it & chambered it in 375 JDJ. The stock started out from a chunk of black walnut from a tree in Arkansas that was cut 30 years ago. Can't wait till deer season. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Doug Humbarger NRA Life member Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club 72'73. Yankee Station Try to look unimportant. Your enemy might be low on ammo.

Love it!!!!! Now when are you going to do a 600 nitro on the 10 gauge frame If you own a gun and you are not a member of the NRA and other pro 2nd amendment organizations then YOU are part of the problem.

That'll be a deer whacker. Had a Contender in that caliber and it was impressive. Which bullet are you loading? There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t. – John Green, author

Thanks for the kind words guys. Bill I am useing Hornady 220 grain bullets. The problem that I am getting frustrated with is that there is NO loading data anywhere for use in a rifle. The 375 jdj was born as a pistol cartridge & therefore pistol load data is everywhere. I just can't believe no one has built one into a rifle before. ![]() ![]() Doug Humbarger NRA Life member Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club 72'73. Yankee Station Try to look unimportant. Lots of pistol data availiable and it will work just fine in a carbine. I have a 309 JDJ and a 358 JDJ in both pistol and rifle lengths and use the same powder in both. Works fine for me. I also have a 7x30 waters in both lengths and use a diferent powder for each as the carbine tube just does not like 2015 powder but shoots well with h4895. Also the pistol barrel prefers lighter bullets. Each gun unto itself I reckon. If you are concerned about using pistol loads in the carbine you might want to give SSK industries a call and ask JD about it. By the way My .358 is a rechambered Handi rifle as well. shortgun

Thanks shortgun. I am really interested in the differance in velocity in the rifle barrel versus a handgun barrel. I guess I will give SSK a call monday. ![]() Doug Humbarger NRA Life member Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club 72'73. Yankee Station Try to look unimportant. Your enemy might be low on ammo.

Doug: Yup, SSK should have some data for you. Might also PM Bobby Tomek here. Not sure if he shoots the .375, but he is very experienced with the T/C single shots. There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t. – John Green, author
