Beautiful wood! If you're replacing a factory stock, I might be interested in buying it from you. I received as a gift from my step-father a #1 in 25.06 that he put a Bell & Carlson plastic stock on and I much prefer real wood!
MtnGoat, You must be peeking into my dreams! I've been fantacizing a restocking of my #1A - .30-06 200th year. The Ruger really does lend itself to a project of this nature, and you have done well. Please post pictures upon completion. Thanks... Dave

For those foillowing the saga. I got the Ruger #1 all back together, now to get it shooting. The stock was carved by George Petterson at Treebone Carving, and the engraving was done by a local named Kenny Majors, the barrel work was done by Greg Tannel, the stock work including the inletted sling swivels, checkering and oil finish is by Tim Smith Lyons.
The World Would Be A Happier Place If Everyone Owned At Least One Ruger #1.
