LA7mmBeautiful wood! If you're replacing a factory stock, I might be interested in buying it from you. I received as a gift from my step-father a #1 in 25.06 that he put a Bell & Carlson plastic stock on and I much prefer real wood!

NeverflinchThat is beautiful wood. Post pic's of the rifle when it's finished.

308SakoMtnGoat, You must be peeking into my dreams! I've been fantacizing a restocking of my #1A - .30-06 200th year. The Ruger really does lend itself to a project of this nature, and you have done well. Please post pictures upon completion. Thanks... Dave

OhiosamYou have every right to be proud. Mind if I ask who did the work?

Rick R#1's already come with nice wood compared to most mere factory rifles. That stock is just grand!

I know you'll be happy together.

MntngoatFor those foillowing the saga. I got the Ruger #1 all back together, now to get it shooting.
The stock was carved by George Petterson at Treebone Carving, and the engraving was done by a local named Kenny Majors, the barrel work was done by Greg Tannel, the stock work including the inletted sling swivels, checkering and oil finish is by Tim Smith Lyons.

OhiosamWell I might have seen a prettier rifle but I really not sure when. If she shoots half as good as she looks you have a winner. Thanks for the photos and info.

ShopCartRacingKenny Majors sure does some fantastic work.
I've sent many customer's guns to him over the years and he has never been anything less than outstanding.

308SakoMtngoat, I am glad I came by to check and see it in a finished condition. WOW factor has increased! That is truly an object of appreciation.

Now carefully return the Queen to her spot in the safe. I really do love the fore end tip, and yes the checkering and the figure and the inletted swievels, and...
