Bad Ass WallaceThe Últimate'Martini
Only a few days now before the rebarrelled Martini is ready from the gunsmith!
I have had a new Walther 577 barrel fitted to a MH frame and chambered for 577 Snider.
Cases have been formed from 24ga brass shotshells and 615gn bullets cast ready to load!
Have a nice piece of euro walnut for a new stock to complete the project.

If'n I miss, our band of 45/70 brothers, will fill yer full of lead!

Bill/OregonBad Ass, awesome project! You've got to keep us up on the progress. Who made your reamer? With a true .577 barrel you'll have all sorts of molds to choose from, not that that beauty in the photo won't do. I think you'll end up with a hell of a buffalo and pig swatter when she's all finished.
There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t.

Idaho Sharpshooterwho made the mold?

Bad Ass WallaceThe barrel is new and of known dimensions .575 and .585. PG&T made the reamer based on those dimensions and the bullet mould by Cast Bullet Engineering here in Australia casts .588 without sizing.

Black powder loads only approx. 20,000CUP
I have been using these cases in a 577/450 Martini with 80gn FFG without problems. I made my own set of form dies from an old bit of muzzleloader barrel.

Bill/OregonBad Ass, I assume you are referring to Pacific Tool and Gauge, Dave Kiff's operation? He's just 30 minutes from me. I spent a very pleasant hour with him a couple of years back as he took measurements from a very rare .40-90 Peabody What Cheer cartridge a collector graciously loaned me.

Bad Ass WallaceI received the barrelled action and that 58cal barrel is a monster at 31"long, 1.25" diameter at the receiver and 0.9" at the muzzle. Just 2 days and I can fire it!
