I've been playing with my old red pad Ruger No. 1 and most people use the heavier 150 grain bullets in these guns but I couldn't get them to shoot under 1.5" at 100 yards. I decided to try the 130 grain TSX bullets and got them to consistently shoot three shots into an inch. Just for fun I decided to try the 110 grain Barnes TTSX and was amazed at the results. These are the first loads that I tried with this bullet. Except for one shot that I pulled with 51 grains of Reloader 15, this gun shot everything under an inch and two loads under half an inch. I guess I have my antelope load for this fall. Frank "I don't know what there is about buffalo that frightens me so.....He looks like he hates you personally. Good shooting! Ever measure the twist of the rifle? Maybe it is a tad slow for a .270 Winchester. My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost. | |||
