I have ran through so many barrels on mine. I just ordered another 257 WBY today from SSK. If it shoots anywhere as accurate as the one I had from VVG, I am looking forward to it. Just a couple of thoughts:

On average, I do not believe they are as accurate as bolt action rifles. Most of my factory barrels will average around 1.25". Now days, I expect my bolt actions to shoot under a inch.

Most custom barrel manufactures do not recommend chambering these in the short mags. Basically, there is not enough case for the chamber walls to grab.

They are fun to shoot and customize. I swore I was going to get rid of mine, but I fell off the wagon. I'm not complaining though.

Dave thanks, what kind of scope and mounts on your rig, I'm debating setting up a 270 WSM and an 25.06 on mine.

Regards--Don.
