-I've taken Coyotes out to 500+yds with my 25-06 U.R.,300yds with my .223 U.R.
-I own six H&R's never ever had a problem with any of them!!!!!! The .223 U.R. has more then 10,000 rounds throw it. I will retire its barrel soon do to throut wear.
- I would alway put a nice scope on mine. You don't need a 5,000 dollar scope, just nice.
-Good Luck 338vt

Hunter308: The Ultras are a fine piece for the money. As wrongtarget mentioned, give it a thorough cleaning before use, as they seem to leave the factory with a lot of grease and machining reminants. For a lot more info, check out the Graybeard forum, which has a category specifically for the H&R single shots - a lot of the posters there were regulars of the H&R forum which shut down several months ago:

I would also agree with wrongtarget about any scopes that may be included by a dealer - approach them with caution.

Good luck!
