I was disappointed by the 4 rifles in De Haas' book--ditto Mueller's. The drawings are adequate, but the designs were a bit uninspiring, I thought. Both books have many good ideas, even if the final design was a bit lacking. The ASSRA has dimensioned drawings for the rolling block, the high wall, the Ballard, the Hepburn, and a few others, available at modest cost to members. They are not as complete as one might like and are reproduced at a tiny scale, but you could make a rifle from them. I've read the plans from Buffalo Arms are well done, but they are pricey. On their site, Search for the word machinist.

I have some plans for a falling block english action. They are currently being entered into a CNC program, with a small run of actions planned. Any intrest in the Westley Richards 1897 action? If all goes well we may offer them in several sizes.

In a month I expect to be shooting my 550 Gibbs on Tom's action. Think of it as half a DR!
