Does anyone know of a Browning 1885 or a Ruger No.1 in 38-55 for sale? Please email me if you hear of one. Thanks.

Tanker,
I believe Davidson's had a limited run on Winchester 1885's. 38-55 being one of the calibers offered. Last I looked, www.cdnninvestments.com had these available in their downloadable catalog.

Hi J Scott: I am aware of the Winchester but prefer the Browning. I know they are supposed to be the same but I have noticed differences especially in the grade of wood. Most of the Winchesters are fence posts. I tried that web site but it is only accessories. Thanks.

Exactly how is the wood different, in your view?

Tanker,
Not a problem. However, once at their site, down load catalog to see the "fence posts". Smiler

Hobie:
From the Winchesters I have seen in ads, the wood was rather plain. The Brownings seem to be more figured. If I am wrong, and I would like to be, then I may consider the newer guns. Have you seen any nice stocks on the current production?
