J ScottTanker,
I believe Davidson's had a limited run on Winchester 1885's. 38-55 being one of the calibers offered. Last I looked,
www.cdnninvestments.com had these available in their downloadable catalog.

TankerHi J Scott: I am aware of the Winchester but prefer the Browning. I know they are supposed to be the same but I have noticed differences especially in the grade of wood. Most of the Winchesters are fence posts. I tried that web site but it is only accessories. Thanks.

HobieExactly how is the wood different, in your view?

J ScottTanker,
Not a problem. However, once at their site, down load catalog to see the "fence posts".

TankerHobie:
From the Winchesters I have seen in ads, the wood was rather plain. The Brownings seem to be more figured. If I am wrong, and I would like to be, then I may consider the newer guns. Have you seen any nice stocks on the current production?
Keep me in mind if you know of these out there for sale. I'm still looking. Thanks.
