Can you easily convert a 700 RUM action to use a 300 H&H cartridge
Other then rebarrelling what else would need to be done?

The bolt face should be right, but as Jeffeosso points out, the feed rails may be too wide to hold the slimmer case of the H & H. It's easy enough to stick about three H & H rounds in the Ultra magazine to see if this is a problem.

I would think that changing the follower to an H&H follower would handle most any feeding issue, but I could be wrong.

FWIW, I just stuffed three 375 H&H dummy rounds into a 338 RUM mag and they fed fine.

The feed rails on a RUM receiver is only .010" wider than a normal mag action, so there isn't a lot of difference there. Might take a normal mag box, the follower is the same.

But I would try it with some 300H&H shells before I got too involved with it. That long neck and shoulder may cause problems.
