You would know this.

Remind me again, what is the exact difference between a Mexican bottom metal and a regular 98 Mauser bottom metal.

Or, in other words, what prevents one from using a regular 98 bottom metal on a Mexican action (either 1910 or 1936).

And, can the 98 bottom metal be reformulated to work on the Mex?

mexican 1910.3 7.62" screw spacing .. mauser large ring is 7.835 ..

mexican is the same as a 96 spacing

Most difficult part is hiding the weld joint, usually requires rust bluing.
