Hard to say who is the best! But if I had something really important to do I would send it off to Turnbull. Not saying he is the best, just the best that I've seen since that old guy that use to polish for Micrro sight years ago gave it up.

D'Arcy Echols uses Half Moon Rifle Shop and I would imagine he's pretty picky.

Rust blue it yourself. Great matte finish that way.

Jeffe, there's a guy named Randy Fite over in Richards, TX not far from you who I hear good things about, mainly builds Remington sendero & tactical rifles. Haven't used him but you might go visit him. Also a fellow named Peter Peiper in Hempstead who is supposed to be good. Sorry, don't have their phone numbers. Forrest A.

I used these guy's before HOT FLASH. I got their Master finish (Very Shinny) on a Remington 700. It turned very nice. No visible dips or buffing marks. I don't know if the picture will convey the finish, but it turned out nice. I'll use them again if needed.

TC1, that's nice work, I'll file their website. I actually like a fine hot blue finish as well as rust blue.

Hey Jeffe, I ended up sending my Whitworth to a guy in Canyon Lake who cut and crowned and was able to fit the PME safety to me. He is a blueing specialist and does all the work for KDF and some other custom smiths. He's Tip Burns, 830-935-3338. His turn around time was very good for me. Lets see if we can get some big bore shooters together before too long. Bob
