I have a couple rifle barrels that an Australian is interested in purchasing. What is the best and/or cheapest method of shipping them? Are there any unique declarations that have to be made first? Any guesstimate how much this will cost? It would probably be 2 45 cal barrels, about 28 inches long, plus one muzzle loading barrel bout 36" long. Thanks

Mark- I would think that it should be a pretty straight-forward operation to send them. As for particulars as well as prices, go to www.fedex.com or www.ups.com or www.usps.com and look around. You should get a real good idea of prices, as well as probably find info concerning any customs declarations, etc.

I just got a copy of the latest Sinclair catalog and in it says that you need an export permit to send barrels out of the country. I read the same thing about after-market triggers somewhere else. Be careful as the folks who watch this sort of thing don't have a sense of humor.

Mark, As has been mentioned you would need a one off export licence. Although it is not always done, this is also required for projectiles. When you freight it to Australia, it is no problem when it gets here. Basically, the Australian at this end produces similar paper work to that when he buys a new rifle and pays any import duty that would be due. Mike
