Where to get two screw sling studs

Hey guys, I just sent the stock for my 35 whelen off to get finished and checkered, I was thinking about while it was there having the sling studs changed out. The front is the kind that goes all the way through and has a nut, probably won't rotate on me, but the back is the matching screw in. While I've hated these for a long time the point was drove home in Utah last year when the rear stud on my 06 came out (over the years of it turning 1/4 out and getting tightened back in it had stripped out I guess). Only my habit of holding onto the sling when it's on my shoulder kept it from taking a fall. Some 5min epoxy put me back in business.

So I could epoxy this one in when it gets back. But I thought there used to be one at Brownells that had two small screws (unable to rotate) and took a standard sling attachment. NECG has some classic ones that are the larger base, two screw, but with built in sling loop/ring. I do like to swap slings (I own about 4-5 but have a favorite that I usually swap rifle to rifle, creature of habit Smiler )

Brownells doesn't list them now, anybody know where I could find them? Would they be big enough to cover up the old hole? Or epoxy and say F*#& it and have a drink?

Talley makes 'em, Dakota makes 'em, Winchester at one time made 'em (post-64 SG), probably others too. MUCH MUCH better than the single screw but sometimes unsightly in some cases, depending.

Why not just inlet the Talley or Dakota's? You're going to finish and checker anyway

Hadn't considered it really Jim just because of cost. I am already spending money I don't have Smiler to get it finished up, but I will see what it would cost. Frankly Id' rather keep the existing studs and spend any more money I shouldn't spend on a steel grip cap. but I suppose that wouldn't look right.

I need to win the lotto Big Grin

Thanks guys. been a great help.

My best all around favorites are the Winchester Super Grade and yes Post 64, (that was 48 years ago people), I got mine from Winchester and I may have got some from Brownell's at one time.
They are trim and smooth very nice.

The straight sided Dakotas can be inlet real cleanly with a 3/8 endmill or router bit. The more eliptical sides would be more work. Just something to consider if you have a mill, or drill press and cross-slide vise.

Man those are great looking, idk if I can even squeeze extra money to make the upgrades right now, but I'll see what's in the piggy bank.

PS
I just remembered a set/kind that I really really think function great. Anybody have any idea about where to get the kind that have a fixed screw but have bearings so they rotate freely. You get the ability for your sling to rotate if needed but doesn't loosen when they turn. Were those some factory piece or were they aftermarket?

Thanks guys, you're a treasure mine of knowledge
