Has anyone started making a back up aperture or ghost ring sight that will slide onto the receivers of the CZ550's yet? I've read of a couple of custom makers who have made one or two, but nobody who wants to jump in and make 'em for the rest of us. Anyone know?

Good hunting,

Andy

Might want to check out New England Custom Guns and see what they offer?? Know they make one for the Rugers and thought they made one for Mausers as well???? Good Luck.

Not that I know of. It is just not going to happen at XS Sights.

I've been sitting here staring at a Marbles tang site that's gonna go on my 1885...I wonder if it could be shortened and otherwise modified to work...hmmmm. It's a good thing I don't own a mill! Big Grin

I have an XS low weaver sight on my Model 70 and it works very well. With some imagination it could likely be modified to fit the dovetail on a CZ 550

NECG does now make one that mounts into the rear scope slot on the receiver. Same basic design as the one NECG makes for Rugers. Not sure that it is on their website yet, but call them, they make one, I have one.

Would not be much trouble at all to make one up from a CZ factory rear ring. Just cut off the ring portion install some sort of apeture. Just would depend on whether and how much windage/elevation you would need. Elevation could be fixed as you could use an ERA ramp which has elevation in it. Windage could be as simple as a slot and opposing screws. Should be a simple job.

Yeah, but at $85 USD plus shipping, I choose to give the NECG one a try first...just as soon as it arrives! Big Grin

I bought one from NECG at Dallas. Seems like an over-engineered, over complicated hunk of metal compared to the XS ghost ring sight, but then XS doesn't make one for the CZ dovetail.

Rusty Marlin here, makes a stylized copy of the Rigby cocking piece peep sight. Check with him he might be able to machine your shroud and bolt a wee bit to fit one on.
