I have a bolt action 404 on a Mauser action with a rear square bridge. The gun now has a NECG screw on rear sight. I would like to have a ghost ring rear sight installed replacing the present rear. The square bridge is flat so I guess one built for a flat top receiver will work. In the opinion of the members who makes the sturdiest ghost ring rear for my application? I'm looking for stout and am not at all familiar in this area. Thanks!

Maybe call Wilson Combat. They make custom parts for Combat shotguns, ARs and 1911s. If cops can not break them I bet they would be fine on your rifle. They have them with tritium inserts.

Post a picture please. Your best bet may be to have a striker mounted peep sight installed. LD

Is this on a recent action? Nominally, the gunsitch mills teh bridges to contain the mounts, so if it is finished square, the smith didn't intend it to be mounted. long (on $$) answer is to ahve it milled to a base profle... longer but cheaper anwer is to rework a lyman to have a flat underside... in either event, if it's a period mauser, you'll decrease it's value jeffe opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round?
