Using heat on scope to get Loctite rings loose

I'm trying to remove a scope from Ruger rings that have apparently been "Loctited". I've broken two T10 torx drivers to no avail. I can't see any Loctite, but am guessing it's there. I understand that with quite a bit of heat, the Loctite bond can be broken. My question: will application of a propane torch to the rings to heat the screws damage the (Leupold) scope? Or is there a better way?

Loctite and most epoxys break loose at about 400F.Lenses are installed with some type of adhesive which will loosen with heat also [keep optics out of direct sunlight].So a soldering iron to the screw is the way to do it.

Also,
Wrap the ends of the scope in cold wet rags. Sucks the heat right out of the metal.

have you tried a sharp tap on a screw driver, with a board under the rings? (supported)

yep.. and not on the slot/hex end at first... no reason to have that much heat in the head ...

I like the soldering iron suggestion, but if all else fails, use an E-Z out tap. They've never failed me.

Thanks for the ideas. I'll start with the soldering iron and go from there.
