It definately is a Remington that has been altered. I would'nt want to guess who did that one but, Dennis Olson is in the process of converting my PF Model 70 Winchester to a controlled round feed, he says, with all Winchester parts. I'm really looking forward to seeing this. Anybody else have Dennis do this conversion and was it all you expected? "I ask, sir, what is the Militia? It is the whole people. I have photos of non controlled round feed winchesters that Butch Searcy converted to controlled feed, along with a note from his that stated he could do the same thing with reminngton actions. However, the photos here are of very crude work compared to the photos of what Mr. Searcy did. I would love to see photos of Dennis Olson's conversions.

22wrf - I would suspect, given Butch Searcy's reputation, that his conversion is first rate. I am anxiously awaiting word from Dennis that my rifle is ready. When I get it back, I'll post pictures of it. Could you post the pictures of the Searcy conversion? "I ask, sir, what is the Militia? It is the whole people. Not exactly the same thing, but lots of metal work regardless. Recognize it?

In the late '90s we had a guy that wanted a 2 Remington 700 actions converted to claw extractor, plunger ejector (sako) and a three position safety for a pair of rifles to take to africa. They started out as a 375 and a 300 H&H. Dennis Olsen did it for him. He could have bought pre-64 Model 70's, complete rifles for less money. Just cause it can be done doesen't mean it should! square shooter

I am really impressed with that pop rivet in the bolt handle. Aside from that, that CRF work could that what Brown Precision used to do 700s' in the late 80s'.
