Is there a difference between a 16 and 12ga stock set for an 870 Wingmaster...butt or forearm. I have a friend in Georgia that needs a stock set for a 16ga where as I have a 12ga. If there's a difference could you let me know and if anybody has a factory checkered take off set that they would like to sell or trade, post or PM me. Thanks. Ron

I believe that the 16Ga and the 12Ga on the 870 are indeed the same.

I know that most 20Ga stocks are different with the advent of the "Lightweight" 20Ga 20-odd years ago.

the 20Ga take the same buttstocks as the Remington 74/7400 semiauto and the 76/7600 pump rifles...

I have a 16ga 870 and bought a set of the stright gripped stocks off of Ebay for around $50 for it. They had the cut checkering and decent figure. They cam from a 12 ga and bolted right up to my 16ga. i hope this helps.
