rgg_7Remington 870 Stock Question
Is there a difference between a 16 and 12ga stock set for an 870 Wingmaster...butt or forearm. I have a friend in Georgia that needs a stock set for a 16ga where as I have a 12ga. If there's a difference could you let me know and if anybody has a factory checkered take off set that they would like to sell or trade, post or PM me. Thanks. Ron

Allan DeGrootI believe that the 16Ga and the 12Ga on the 870 are indeed the same.
I know that most 20Ga stocks are different with the advent of the "Lightweight" 20Ga 20-odd years ago.
the 20Ga take the same buttstocks as the Remington 74/7400 semiauto and the 76/7600 pump rifles...

M1TankerI have a 16ga 870 and bought a set of the stright gripped stocks off of Ebay for around $50 for it. They had the cut checkering and decent figure. They cam from a 12 ga and bolted right up to my 16ga. i hope this helps.
