Hello, everybody. What's the respective barrel life of above 3 cartridges, assume all are near maximum loads? Thanks in advance.

Much will depend on several factors which you have not addressed: how many rounds are put through the tubes in a relatively short time (as in PD shooting), what you consider "accurate" and what type of cleaning procedures you utilize. The .223 may go 6-8000 rounds before accuracy erodes enough that someone interested only in hunting accuracy will notice. Then again, with the Swift or 22-250, you may begin to notice a difference at 3-4000 rounds -- or perhaps less if you are into extreme precision and can detect differences that are measured in the hundredths to perhaps a tenth (or two) of an inch. Many factors come into play and need to be addressed to give a more precise anwer.

5000 rds each and see what happens as far as accuracy goes. You might get more, you might get less. Rifle shooting would be much too boring if it was an exact science, wouldn't it? ------------------

It all depends, but I would say the .223 should have at least twice the life of a 22-250.

Gee Bruce, I'm glad you spoke up! I was considering exactly that project for an across-the-course gun. No sense reinventing the wheel. The 260 was next in line in my scheme too. Redial
